Few days earlier, there was a program in one of the TV channeles, If I am not wrong, it was "NEWS 24". Few National level politicians and also two panelists who are well experienced in the strategically important issues such as internal security were part of the discussion . The debate was about massacre of CRPF jawans by Maoist in Chattisgarh.
As usual the discussion derailed in the middle, political representatives started verbal duals among themselves!! Even at one stage, a leader claimed that his party has sacrificed the maximum for the country and many have become martyrs. He was quoting an example that in recent past one of the local leaders of his party was brutally killed in Jarkhand by Maoists in front of his wife.(If a Jawan is killed by these left wing ultras, it doesn't make a big issue to these politicians.!!) He was arguing on the issue that other political parties did not loose their cadres to that extent. We couldn't make out anything out of his statement. It seems he would have been happy had Maoists killed cadres of other political parties too.
I was astonished by their arguments! Media has invited these politicians to studio for a healthy discussions, the intention may be to highlight the threat of the Left wing extremists to the Nation. But these buffoons wanted to have mileage out of this. The shocking part is , during the entire debate, none of them spell about the sacrifice made by those Jawans and Officers who were being brutally ambushed by Maoists.
Aren't they human beings? Don't they need the sympathy of the society? I would like to ask these men in Khadhi, " Do you feel the people wearing khaki are meant to die? Don't they deserve any respect? Did ever think of their bereaved family? Can you imagine of loosing any one of your family members in the way how our Khaki clad jawans die? They deserve appreciation, not you!Just by announcing Rupees 2 lakhs over the dead body of a soldier, do you want to wash off your responsibilities?
It is a well known factor that maximum number of jawans are from lower middle class or from poor family. The circumstances and poverty must have forced them to join the forces. In many cases, they are the sole earning members in their entire family. It is beyond my imagination to think of a family who lost their sole bread earner in this way. For politicians, this may not be an issue to think about!!! They will be eager to have one more such incident at regular intervals so that they could gain publicity again.
